PHOTOS: De Gea, Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin joins Manchester United team-mates for pre-season tour of America
David de Gea joined his Manchester United team-mates on Monday as they prepared to jet off to Seattle for their pre-season tour of America.
De Gea, who is wanted by Real Madrid, was included in Louis van Gaal's 26-man squad for the tour, as well as new signings Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian and Memphis Depay.
Fans mobbed players and staff as they arrived at Manchester Airport, with Van Gaal getting special attention in particular, as he was hugged by fans as he made his way to check-in before the club's flight.
Victor Valdes was the surprise omission from United's squad, which included goalkeepers Sam Johnstone and Anders Lindegaard, as well as De Gea, despite the Spaniard's long-term future continuing to rumble on.
Rafael was another notable exclusion from Van Gaal's squad for the tour, as the Brazilian's future looks set to be be away from Old Trafford.
United begin the defence of the International Champions Cup on Friday when they face Mexican outfit Club America, before further games against MLS side San Jose Earthquakes, Spanish giants Barcelona, and then finishing off against Paris Saint-Germain on July 29.
