Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team, Falconets depart for Liberia

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team the Falconets are expected to fly out today with a 27-man delegation for Liberia.

The delegation is made up of 18 players and nine officials as the team will face the Liberia women’s team for a place at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup billed for Papua New Guinea.

Despite reports of a fresh outbreak of Ebola virus disease in the west African country, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has opted not to move the match to a neutral venue.

CAF has appointed Aissatou Inter Keita of the Republic of Guinea as referee for the match billed for the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on Sunday.

She will be assisted by compatriots Fantagbe Kaba, Manty Keita and Isatou Touray as assistant referee one, assistant referee two and reserve referee respectively. The match commissioner is Fatou Camara from Mali.
