Robin van Persie faces uncertain future at Manchester United

Robin van Persie has admitted he faces an uncertain future at Manchester United after a difficult season.

Van Persie struggled with injuries during the season and managed just ten goals as United finished fourth to qualify for the Champions League.

The Dutchman still has a year to run on his contract at Old Trafford but he could be forced to look elsewhere if he wants to play first-team football.

Indeed, with the European Championships on the horizon, the 31-year-old has admitted he must ‘evaluate the situation’.
“I must evaluate the situation. The club is doing that as well. I must consider what I really want,” he said.

“If worse comes to the worst and I won’t be playing much next season I wouldn’t be in an ideal situation with Euro 2016 coming up.

“It’s a strange, difficult situation. A new situation, that’s a better word. I have to think in a realistic way. It’s my ambition to play the next years.”
Van Persie’s future has been the subject of much speculation in recent months, but the striker insists he has paid little attention to the rumours.
“If I am to believe the stories, around 35 new strikers will be coming in and 40 will be leaving but I have no news regarding my future,” he added.
