QPR insist Sandro is on holiday in Brazil NOT deported over work permit problem

QPR have denied reports midfielder Sandro was deported after playing without a work permit.

The Brazilian moved to Loftus Road last summer for £10million from Tottenham, going on to make 17 appearances for the club.

Reports this week claimed Sandro was sent out of the country because he did not have the necessary paper work - and played all of last season without a work permit.
A statement from QPR on Tuesday read: "The club is aware of today's story in The Sun newspaper regarding Sandro and the Home Office.

"Whilst the club is in dialogue with the Home Office in a bid to resolve the matter, it is not in a position to comment further at this time.

"However, the club can clarify that Sandro is currently on holiday in Brazil - but wasn't deported as suggested in the article. The club will be making no further comment."
Last month, QPR were advised not to select the midfielder against Manchester City because of an issue with his UK residency, concerning its expiry date.

He didn't feature in the 6-0 defeat at the Etihad or the club's final two games of the season as they suffered relegation to the Championship.
