Premier League transfer deadline brought forward
The Premier League has brought forward the transfer deadline to allow clubs time to submit their squads for the Champions League.
Traditionally the summer transfer window closes on August 31, but as that is a bank holiday, the deadline has been moved to September 1.
The change of date has also prompted the Premier League to bring forward the closure time from 2300 BST to 1700 BST because of the UEFA deadline for Champions League squads.
The earlier close in England will allow Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United time to finalise their squad before the 2300 BST UEFA deadline.
