John Obi Mikel set to leave Chelsea

John Obi Mikel is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports.

The Nigeria midfielder is the subject of interest from Turkey and the Middle East, according to the Evening Standard.

Mikel joined Chelsea in a complicated deal in 2006 and has since lifted the Premier League title twice.

But the arrivals of Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic have meant his first team chances have been more sporadic.

Last term he featured just six times from the start in the Premier League.

French youngster Kurt Zouma played the holding midfield role on occasions when Jose Mourinho looked to shut up shop.

And with Mourinho looking to bolster his side Mikel looks like being one player to make way.

The emergence of Ruben Loftus-Cheek may be another reason the Blues look to move Mikel on.
