Gov. Fayose to appoint only 14 Commissioners in view of States' financial crisis
Eight months after he was sworn in as the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has declared that his administration would only appoint 14 commissioners in view of the financial crisis facing the State.
The governor, who assumed office on October 16, made the declaration on Friday while featuring on a monthly radio and television programme, “Meet Your Governor”.
He said he deliberately refused to announce names of commissioners since he assumed office because of paucity of funds.
Fayose added that the immediate past administration appointed more than enough number of commissioners as well as 102 special advisers, saying that the present economic situation in the state will not allow him to repeat that.
Fayose assured the people of the state that the list of the commissioners would be presented to the state House of Assembly within 48 hours.
