Carlo Ancelotti wants to stay on at Real Madrid

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says he wants to stay at the club despite Napoli manager Rafael Benitez being linked with his job.

Ancelotti, who has one season to run on his three-year deal, will discuss his future after the final game of the season against Getafe on Saturday.

The Italian, 55, has endured a trophyless season at the Bernabeu.
"I have the confidence and the desire to carry on because I like this club, these players and this city," he said.

"If I don't carry on I will have spent two fantastic years here and each will go their separate ways, the club one way and me the other.

"We have had some very happy moments, perhaps the happiest in the history of Real Madrid.

"I won't be sad as I will have the feeling that I gave everything I could."
Despite Ancelotti delivering a 10th European Cup last season and ensuring his team will qualify for the Champions League next term by finishing second in La Liga, Benitez has been earmarked as the front runner to replace the former AC Milan and Chelsea manager.

Former Liverpool boss Benitez, who has worked with Real's academy and with the B team in the mid-1990s, led Napoli to the Europa League semi-finals this season and last season's Coppa Italia.
