Manchester City star David Silva escapes fractured cheekbone
David Silva is to be monitored this week after tests showed he did not suffer a fractured cheekbone in the Premier League win over West Ham.
Silva required extensive treatment after he was caught by an elbow from Cheikhou Kouyate in the second half of City’s 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.
He was eventually stretchered off before being transferred to hospital to undergo tests to determine whether or not he had fractured his cheekbone.
While he escaped serious injury, the 29-year-old playmaker is to be closely monitored ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game with Aston Villa.
