Real Madrid president Florentino Perez offers Ancelotti support

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has offered his support to manager Carlo Ancelotti amid reports his job is on the line.

Ancelotti’s future at the Spanish club has been the subject of much speculation with some reports claiming that he would be sacked if Real Madrid failed to get a result against Barcelona on March 22.

However, Perez has assured him that his job is not dependent on the outcome of the game at the Nou Camp.

“Some reports have emerged that have nothing to do with reality and only contribute to create a lot of pressure on our coach and our players,” Perez told reporters at a press conference.

“We are our biggest critics but we cannot allow for some to take advantage of a drop in form to give information that does not correspond with the truth.

“I want to express my full confidence in Carlo Ancelotti.

“Whatever happens in the next few weeks, Carlo Ancelotti will continue to be coach of Real Madrid.”
