PDP calls for cancellation of elections in 4 Northern States

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the cancellation of Saturday’s elections in four states of Gombe, Kaduna, Kano and Katsina over alleged irregularities.

According to the deputy national chairman of the ruling party, Mr Uche Secondus, under age voters were allowed by electoral officials to vote in Kano and Katsina States.

Mr Secondus also alleged that results were fabricated from some local government councils in Gombe State, where voting never took place because of attacks by the insurgents on the day of the elections.

He also condemned some online media claims of victory by the opposition, while the All Progressives Congress on its part accused the Media Director of the Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, of attempt to cause chaos in the country by saying that he is sure the PDP would win the presidential election.
