Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech hints at summer exit

Petr Cech has dropped his biggest hint yet that he could leave Chelsea in the summer after growing frustrated at his lack of game time.

Having spent a decade as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper, Cech found himself displaced by Thibaut Courtois this season, with the 32-year-old managing just four starts in the Premier League.

He has linked with a number of clubs in January but opted to remain at Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the season. However, he has made it clear that he does not want to spend another season as Courtois’ number two.
“I don’t know what the club’s idea will be,” Cech told the website of Czech newspaper Idnes.

“It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut as a duo.

“But that can work for one season only. I don’t want another one like this. There always will be speculation. I leave it for the summer.

“It will be important to sit down with the club and with the manager to consider all the pros and cons. We will see what will work out the best.”
When asked if he would be interest in a move to Real Madrid, Cech added: “When a specific offer comes I will consider it. There are offers one cannot turn down.”
