Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal relishing Arsenal test

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is looking forward to taking on Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-final next month.

United avoided a shock exit as they came from a goal down to defeat Preston 3-1 and book their place in the last eight of the competition on Monday night.

Shortly before kick-off at Deepdale, it was confirmed that the winners of the game would face a home tie against Arsenal in the next round and Van Gaal is relishing the opportunity to play the defending champions.
“The most important thing is that we have a draw at home. In FA Cup matches, I believe that is important, so I am pleased that we get to play against Arsenal at home,” the Dutchman stated.
United have beaten lower league opposition in the three previous rounds and Van Gaal is only too aware that his side must be at their best if they are to progress to the last four.
“Every game in the FA Cup is difficult to win because every team is giving everything,” van Gaal added.

“You have also seen it in this round how many better situated teams have lost. So what is very important is that we will play at home for the first time.”
