INEC extends deadline for collection of Permanent Voters’ Cards to March 8

As part of the consequences of the rescheduling of the 2015 general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the extension of the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) by registered voters.

According to a statement signed by the commission’s Secretary, Mrs. Augusta Ogakwu, the collection of the cards would continue for four more weeks until March 8.

INEC had at the weekend, rescheduled the 2015 general election by six weeks due to security challenges.

The national elections (i.e. presidential and National Assembly) were rescheduled to hold on March 28 while the state elections (governorship and state assembly) will now hold on April 11.
