12 killed in Kano motor park bomb blast
Twelve persons have been killed after a bomb went off in Kano, Kano State in Nigeria’s north western region.
The blast, which occurred at the Kano Line motor park, was carried out by two male suicide bombers within the ages of 15 and 16.
This attack is coming hours after at least 15 persons died and 53 others were injured after a female suicide bomber detonated a bomb at the Tashar Dan-Borno Motor Park in Potiskum town, Yobe State, Nigeria’s north-east region.
Eyewitness said the female suicide bomber alighted from a tricycle opposite the Motor Park and rushed towards a loaded bus when the explosive went off.
The bus, marked Kano XA 592 GBT, is said to have been ready to ferry the passengers to Kano State before the incident happened.
A nursing officer at the hospital where the dead and injured were rushed to, told Channels Television on the condition of anonymity, that so far 15 bodies had been deposited at the mortuary while 53 others are in critical condition.
No group has claimed responsibility for both attacks, but it was carried out in a style that mirrors the modus operandi of the dreaded Islamist Boko Haram sect.
