Injury Setback: Mesut Ozil faces further 7 weeks out
Mesut Ozil will not be available for Arsenal until early 2015 after meeting with a setback in his recovery from injury.
Ozil was ruled out for ’10-12 weeks’ last month after a scan confirmed he had a ‘partial rupture of the outer band of the left knee joint’.
The injury was detected while the midfielder was with the German national team in the days following Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the first week of October.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had hoped the 25-year-old would be available for the busy Christmas and New Year period, but the World Cup winner is facing a further seven weeks on the sidelines.

“I’ve been out injured for five weeks, and I will miss another seven weeks. That’s a long time, indeed,” Ozil told reporters.
“Sadly, I am ruled out because of my knee. But it is like that in football sometimes. Chin up, and move on.”
