Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas ruled out of Spain games with hamstring injury

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas will miss Spain's Euro 2016 qualifier against Belarus and friendly with Germany with a hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old joined the Spain squad after playing in Chelsea's 2-1 Premier League win at Liverpool on Saturday.

However, Blues boss Jose Mourinho said he had taken a "gamble" with Fabregas.

The Spanish Football Federation said: "Although the MRI discards a hamstring tear, the player continues to have discomfort.

"And the medical team considers that his involvement in the next games would not be advisable for his complete recovery."

Fabregas will undergo further tests in Madrid before returning to London on Tuesday.

Spain host Belarus on Saturday before entertaining world champions Germany next Tuesday.

National team coach Vicente del Bosque has called up Villarreal midfielder Bruno Soriano as Fabregas' replacement.
