Samir Nasri set for Manchester City return

Samir Nasri could return for Manchester City in Wednesday’s Capital One Cup clash with Newcastle.

Nasri has not featured for City for over a month after undergoing surgery on a groin injury, but he has returned to training and is in line to make his return in the fourth-round game.
“Nasri is working normally and is in the squad list for tomorrow,” manager Manuel Pellegrini told reporters.
While Nasri is close to a return, Frank Lampard remains sidelined with the thigh injury he picked up in the win over Tottenham.

Lampard will miss the weekend’s Manchester derby but could make his return next week.
“Lampard is out, all the other players in the squad are fit. I don’t think Frank will be fit for the weekend but maybe he can be fit for next week,” Pellegrini added.
While the manager wants to successfully retain the league cup, he has warned he will rotate his squad to keep his key players as fresh as possible.
