No Manchester United return for Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo will not be returning to Manchester United because he is with ‘Madrid to the death’, his agent Jorge Mendes has stated.

Ronaldo spent six years at United before moving to Real Madrid in 2009 for a then world record £80million fee, but he has repeatedly linked with a return to Old Trafford.

He appeared to put an end to the speculation by signing a new long-term contract with the Spanish giants last year, but reports linking him with a return to the Premier League refuse to go away.

While United fans would love nothing more than to welcome Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, Mendes has moved to end the speculation by insisting his heart is in Spain.

“He is loved by United because his heart was there for six years. But now he is just thinking about Real Madrid and he will stay here forever,” Mendes told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope.

“He could not be happier. He respects the people who remember him, but he is with Madrid to the death.

“I do not receive offers because people know it is impossible to take Cristiano out of Real Madrid, so it is not worth calling to ask about him.”
Ronaldo has another four years to run on his existing contract but Mendes is confident he will see out his career at the Bernabeu.
“You are never going to find another like him. He is getting better every day, and will be maybe better until he is 40,” Mendes added.

“Cristiano is very happy at Real Madrid and has always been very happy. He will beat all the records there are to beat at the Blancos club and he will retire here.”
