Injury scare for Liverpool's Dejan Lovren

Dejan Lovren is to return to Liverpool after withdrawn from the Croatia squad with an abdominal injury.

Lovren had been due to play in the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Bulgaria on Friday and Azerbaijan on Monday, but he has been ruled out after picking up an issue in training.
“During training on Wednesday Lovren felt pain in the abdominal wall. Igor Boric [a specialist] at St Catherine [Hospital] showed there was a tear and he will not be ready for performances in Sofia and Osijek,” a statement on the Croatian Football Federation’s website read.
Lovren will undergo tests on his return to Liverpool and manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping for good news ahead of the club’s Premier League clash with QPR on Saturday week.
