Arsenal target William Carvalho admits Premier League desire

Arsenal and Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of William Carvalho after the Sporting Lisbon player admitted his ambition to play in the Premier League.

Both clubs were linked with the Portuguese international over the summer, with the Gunners said to have made an unsuccessful transfer deadline day move.

But despite Carvalho remaining with Sporting, he admits he hopes to make the move to England in the future.
‘We all have ambitions and I hope one day to play in the best leagues in the world, the English or Spanish,’ he told the Portuguese Association’s magazine.

‘It was not this year, but if I continue to do my job as I have done so, it will certainly come sooner or later.’
The midfielder is believed to have a release clause in his current contract in the region of £35m.
