Arsenal Injury Boost - Olivier Giroud recovery from broken leg ahead of schedule

Olivier Giroud is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a broken leg and could return sooner than expected.

Giroud was injured during the latter stages of Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Everton on Saturday and subsequent scans confirmed he had broken his left tibia.

The 27-year-old underwent surgery in August and had been expected be out until after Christmas, but manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he could be available sooner.
“Olivier Giroud is recovering very well,” Wenger told beIN Sports. “I believe he is ahead of schedule in terms of rehabilitation. The operation went perfectly.”
The Gunners signed Danny Welbeck shortly after Giroud’s injury and Wenger is confident there will be no issue when he returns to the team.
“Welbeck and him can play together in the centre or separately. Welbeck also played on one side to Manchester United. Welbeck played in the same team with [Wayne] Rooney and [Robin] van Persie. He can play down the sides,” he added.
