President Jonathan swears in 4 new ministers; ...Shekarau becomes new Education Minister
Former Kano State governor, Ibrahim Shekarau who recently decamped from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been sworn in by President Goodluck Jonathan as the new Education Minister alongside three others, which includes, Stephen Oru, Adedayo Adeyeye and Abdul Bulama who are to head other designated ministerial portfolios.
Following the swearing in ocassion, the president announced Mr. Shekarau as the new Education Minister; Mr. Adeyeye was named Minister of State for Works; Mr. Oru, Minister of Niger Delta; and Mr. Bulama, Minister of Science and Technology.
Additionally, Jonathan also announced that the current Minister of Works, Bashir Yuguda, will now be the Minster of State for Finance and supervising Minister of National Planning. Mr. Yuguda is filling the vacancy created by the exit of the former minister of state for finance, Yerima Ngama.
At the swearing in ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, Jonathan congratulated his new cabinet members for their appointment.
