Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer sign new contract extension
Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has signed a new one-year contract to keep him at Stamford Bridge until June 2015.
Schwarzer joined Chelsea last summer on a free transfer, providing reliable cover for number on Petr Cech.
The former Australia international made his debut in the Capital One Cup victory at Swindon and was named in the team for the games against Arsenal and Sunderland before starting the Champions League home win against Steaua Bucharest.
An injury to Cech in the latter stages of the season provided Schwarzer with further opportunities to impress and he has been rewarded with a new contract.
In total he made 12 starts and one substitute appearance during his debut season at Stamford Bridge.
