Mesut Ozil facing ‘few weeks’ out with hamstring injury

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Mesut Ozil will miss a ‘few weeks’ a a result of the hamstring injury he sustained during Arsenal’s Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

Ozil failed to appear for the second half of Tuesday’s last 16 second leg at the Allianz Arena as Tomas Rosicky was introduced to the action.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Wenger confirmed the German international was unable to carry on because of injury and the Frenchman fears he could be without his record signing for a number of weeks.
“[Ozil] has a hamstring problem. It looks quite serious. For sure he’s out for at least a few weeks,” Wenger confirmed.
Ozil will undergo a scan following his return to London but he will definitely miss Sunday’s North London derby against Tottenham, while he is also a double for the games against Chelsea and Manchester City.
