Manchester United striker Robin van Persie ruled out for 6 weeks with knee injury
Robin van Persie looks set to miss both legs of Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, having been ruled out of action for four to six weeks.
United have confirmed that he suffered a sprained knee at the end of the 3-0 win over Olympiacos, in which he scored a hat-trick.
United revealed via Twitter: “Following further investigation, Robin van Persie has a sprained knee, which will keep him out for around four to six weeks.”
Earlier on Friday, David Moyes had suggested that the prognosis regarding the striker was unlikely to be pleasing to United fans.

“We’re getting Robin re-scanned again today,” the manager said.The first leg of United’s quarter-final meeting with Bayern will take place on April 1 or 2, with the return battle a week later.
“We’re just not quite conclusive on everything we’ve seen yet. We want to just check that out and be sure. He won’t be available for (Saturday’s) game (against West Ham). But we’ll try to give you some update when we can on the outcome of it.
“We’ve got a lot of games coming up and we need all our players fit and available.”
