Theo Walcott ruled out for SIX MONTHS with cruciate ligament injury

Theo Walcott has been ruled out of the rest of Arsenal’s season and the World Cup in Brazil after sustaining ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Spurs in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Arsenal confirmed the forward will be out for at least six months after he was carried off during the second half.

The news will come as a blow to Arsene Wenger who is hoping to end eight years at the Emirates without a trophy as well as England boss Roy Hodgson who is likely to have picked Walcott for the World Cup.
Statement from Arsenal:

After coming off injured in Saturday's 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the Club regrettably announces that Theo Walcott has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.

Theo will have surgery in London in the near future and is expected to be out for at least six months, therefore missing the remainder of the season and the World Cup in Brazil in the summer.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Theo a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on a football pitch as soon as possible.
