Manchester United left back Fabio joins Cardiff City
Manchester United's Brazilian left back Fabio has joined Cardiff City on a permanent basis, bringing to an end his six-year stay at Old Trafford.
Confirming the news at his Friday press conference, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “My phone is ringing and I am answering most of them. Maybe some players will go out on loan, but we are done with signings.
“Some players I have looked at and some have not come through. I can’t confirm or deny anybody.
“We have added three new players this week – Fabio, Kenwyne [Jones] and Wilf [Zaha]. They have energy and enthusiasm and presence – together they complement my squad and I am happy with what I have now.”
Fabio joined United along with his brother Rafael in February 2007 but he has struggled to hold down a place in the team and spent some time on loan at Queens Park Rangers.
