Edo Governor, Adams Oshiomhole debunks rumours of fatal injury in accident

The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has debunked rumours that he was fatally injured in an auto accident at Ewu, in Esan Central Local Government Area of the state on December 28, necessitating his being flown abroad for treatment.

Presiding over the first State Executive Council meeting for the year, Governor Oshiomhole reassured the people that he is well and alive and that he had every reason to give thanks to God.

The Governor also set agenda for 2014, assuring the people of the state that the government would redouble efforts this year to sustain and complete all on-going projects.

Governor Oshiomhole said he was on his way to Benin to receive the Vice President who was attending Tony Anenih’s birthday when a tomato loaded bus veered off its lane and hit his vehicle which was the third in the convoy.
“Three airbags were deployed following the impact. If not for the fact that the vehicle I was inside was armoured, it would have summersaulted,” the governor said.
He explained further that he was lucky that the vehicles behind his were not in top speed, as they would have run into his.

Governor Oshiomhole said no one sustained any injury and that he went on with his normal schedule for the day before travelling abroad as he had planned.

On his plans for the New Year, Governor Oshiomhole said more attention would be given to roads, drainage, street lights, schools and completing the Central Hospital which is currently under construction.

He pointed out that there would be political pressure during the run up to the National Assembly and Presidential election and said that his Party would strengthen its selling point which was his developmental strides.

The Governor, however, advised his executive members to devote 95 per cent of their time to service delivery as it was too early for politicking.

Glory be to God for sparing the governor's life.
