Javier Hernandez set to stay at Manchester United as Van Persie's injury woes continue

Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez is set to stay at Old Trafford, according to his agent.

Some observers have reflected that the Mexican striker may grow frustrated with a perceived lack of first-team opportunities at Old Trafford but United have no intention of selling the frontman.

Hernandez has made just seven starts in all competitions under new manager David Moyes so far this season, contributing four goals.

Hernandez is, however, recognised as one of the most prolific finishers in Europe, netting over 50 goals in his first three years at the club and speculation persists that he is a target for Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.

Arsenal have also considered a move for the striker, while Hernandez last summer turned down a move to Spanish side Valencia.

But agent Eduardo Hernandez told Medio Tiempo: 'I had a meeting with Manchester United's people about 10 days ago and they confirmed that there has been interest from various European clubs but it is not in their plan to transfer him.'
