Manchester United's teenage sensation Adnan Januzaj turns down Belgium

Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj will take his time before making a decision on his international future.

Januzaj is eligible to declare for Belgium, Albania, Turkey and Serbia, while there is a chance he could also play for England once he has fulfilled FIFA’s eligibility requirements.

The 18-year-old has made a big impression for United this season, scoring a brace on his full debut against Sunderland, but he is not ready to make a call on his international future.

“Manchester United told me that Januzaj has not made a decision to play for a national team yet, not for any country,” Belgium coach Marc Wilmots told reporters.

“We gave a clear signal [that we want him to play for Belgium] and now it’s up to him. I will respect his choice.”

Januzaj’s contract expires in the summer and talks over an extension are ongoing. While, international football is on the agenda the 18-year-old is only interested in developing his club career.

“At the moment, international football isn’t something that I’ve thought a lot about,” Januzaj is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.

“I know that, first, I have to concentrate on what I do for United, because that is the most important part of my career right now.

“I want to play well for United and give everything for my club.”

Januzaj is better off with the golden generation of Belgium players in my opinion.

He.ll blend well with Benteke, Hazard, Lukaku, Dembele, Vermaelen, Vertonghen, Mignolet, Mirallas, Fellaini, De Bruyne, Chadli, Kompany etc.
