#TransferDeadlineDay: Manchester United target Marouane Fellaini hands in transfer request to Everton

According to SportsMail, Marouane Fellaini has just left Finch Farm at high speed and it is most likely that he won’t be back.

Fellaini arrived at Everton's training ground to personally tell Roberto Martinez that he wanted to leave Everton, with Manchester United his likely destination.

He signed for the Toffees in the final few minutes before the deadline in September 2008 and it looks like he will leave in similar circumstances, despite Everton and Manchester United still needing to agree a fee.

After Fellaini’s decision to inform Martinez of his intentions, it seems unlikely that Everton will be able to keep hold of an unhappy player.

The Belgian midfielder - who arrived at Everton's training ground late on Monday evening - wants to be reunited with former manager David Moyes and feels he has no choice now but to make his intention to join United formal.

United have made separate bids for both Fellaini and Leighton Baines, having had respective offers of £28million plus add-ons and £36million rejected by Everton.

Fellaini, who joined Everton for a club record £15million on deadline day in September 2008, and Baines both played in Saturday's 0-0 draw at Cardiff.

There has never been any question of their professionalism during this saga but Fellaini has his heart set on joining United and is now prepared to take action to make that happen.

Talks between United and Everton were at an advanced stage on Sunday night, with the club's haggling over add-on bonuses and the size of cash instalments for the Belgian.
