Tottenham completes signing of Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue

Tottenham have completed the signing of Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue, sending their spending towards the £60million mark for the summer.

The 25-year-old, who has been capped seven times by his country, has made 174 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, scoring 13 times, and was named in top flight's team of the year in 2012.

The club announced the deal this morning after the France international revealed on Wednesday night that he had completed his medical.

Speaking after his country's draw with Belgium, he said: 'There are only some paperwork to sign now. I will be at the training ground [on Thursday].

'Tottenham is a super club. It's the best club to continue my career. It should be official very quickly now.'

Capoue follows Brazil international Paulinho (£17m), Roberto Soldado (£26m) and Nacer Chadli (£7.5m) to the club.
