Tottenham close in on Valencia striker Roberto Soldado
Spurs are on the brink of signing Spanish international striker Roberto Soldado from Valencia for a fee of £26m.
The north Londoners agreed to meet the 28-year-old’s buyout clause and are believed to have agreed personal terms with the player with only a dispute with Soldado’s agents holding up the deal.
Speaking with the Spanish media on Wednesday, Valencia president Amadeo Salvo said: “A problem with Soldado’s agents has come up and the player will not leave the club until a solution has been found.”
It was arguably the lack of a consistent frontman which cost Spurs a place in this season’s Champions League and the signing of Soldado, who scored 30 times for his club last campaign, could be the key missing ingredient.
