Swansea manager Michael Laudrup eyes out-of-favour Peter Odemwingie

Peter Odemwingie is one of the players Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is looking at bringing in to help boost his attacking options.

Odemwingie has been told that he does not feature in Steve Clarke’s plans for West Brom after failing to push through a move to Queens Park Rangers in January.

The striker has been linked with the likes of Stoke, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace but with just a week to do until the transfer deadline he remains on the books at The Hawthorns.

With the Europa League to contend with this season, Laurdup is keen to strengthen his strike force and he has confirmed that Odemwingie is the sort of player he is looking at.

“We want to add one more who can give us that in a certain part of the game or in certain games,” Laudrup told the South Wales Evening Post

“And he (Odemwingie) is a player with pace who knows the league.”
