JTF imposes 24-hour curfew on Potiskum, Yobe state
The security Joint Task Force (JTF) in Yobe on Tuesday, imposed a 24-hour curfew on Potiskum, the commercial nerve centre of the state.
A statement issued by the JTF spokesman, Capt. Lazarus Eli, enjoined Potiskum residents, to cooperate and abide by the curfew order.
"Residents of Potiskum are enjoined to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by remaining indoors until the curfew is lifted" the statement advised.
The JTF, did not state reasons for the curfew.
On July 6, the Boko Haram sect killed 29 students and an English teacher Mohammed Musa, in a boarding school in Mamudo town,some few kilometers from Potiskum.
In another development, two days to Sallah celebration, security operatives have intensified surveillance, including stop -and -search operations
