Anambra Governorship Election: PDP gives Tony Nwoye Certificate of Return

The National leadership of the ruling party PDP has handed over to Tony Nwoye the party’s Flag bearer for the Anambra governorship election his certificate of return.

While speaking at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja FCT, the national chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Bamanga Tukur encouraged party members in Anambra state to work with the party’s candidate to ensure victory in the forthcoming election.

He said further that ahead of the November election in Anambra state, the PDP is strategizing on ways to reclaim power in the state as it used to be a PDP controlled state.

The party would have been enmeshed in factional crisis over who is to bear the flag of the ruling party come November but for the intervention of the leadership, which swiftly recognised Mr. Nwoye as it legitimate flag bearer, as PDP primary produced two candidate because the party had two factions, with some members swearing their allegiance to the Kenneth Emeakayi-led faction which produced Nwoye and the Ejike Oguebego faction produced Andy Ubah as its flag bearer.

The PDP however recognised the primary which the Katsina state governor Shehu Shettima conducted, that is the faction which produced the Tony Nwoye and summoned key members that spearheaded the Ejike Oguebego-led primary to its national secretariat in Abuja included Andy Ubah.
