No offers for want-away West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie

West Brom have yet to receive any offers for wantaway striker Peter Odemwingie, club chairman Jeremy Peace has revealed.

Odemwingie tried to force a move to QPR on transfer deadline day in January by driving to London, only for him to be refused entry to Loftus Road because he was there without the Baggies permission.

He failed to start a match for the Baggies for the remainder of the season and shortly after the campaign ended manager Steve Clarke admitted he expected the striker to leave the club.

Hull, Swansea and Crystal Palace have all been linked with a move for the player, but the Baggies have yet to receive a single offer.

“We have a player who is under contract until the end of the season,” Peace told the Birmingham Mail.

“Unless something comes in to change our way of thinking he will be back in pre-season and we will deal with that.

“We took a view at the end of January – not only for the reasons of Peter Odemwingie, or QPR, or whichever agents were involved who acted disgracefully, but for the long term of this football club – that we have to behave a certain way.

“If we don’t do that they will all be knocking on the door.

“Unless we get an offer we’re happy with we won’t sell him.”
