Chelsea forward Marko Marin joins Sevilla on season-long loan

Chelsea have confirmed that Marko Marin will join Spanish side Sevilla on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Werder Bremen last summer but he made just 16 appearances for the Blues in his first season at Stamford Bridge as he fell behind Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Victor Moses in the pecking order.

With Andre Schurrle joining from Bayer Leverkusen, Marin’s opportunities were likely to be restricted further, prompting the club to send him out on a season-long loan, pending the completion of legal documentation and a medical.
