4 Teenagers arraigned for murder

Four pupils have been arraigned before Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State for the murder of one Mustapha Abubakar, their school mate.

The youngsters – Idowu Adesunloye, 18, Wasiu Adeyemi, 19, Kehinde Rasaki, 18, Lawal Endurance 18 – who were arraigned on two counts of murder, were said to have begun a fight from an unnamed school, which they continued outside the school premises, leading to the death of Abubakar.

The suspects allegedly stabbed the deceased with sharp objects, culminating in his death.

The charge sheet read in part, “That you, Idowu Adesunloye, Wasiu Adeyemi, Kehinde Rasaki, Lawal Endurance, and others at large, on the 7th day of June, 2013 at about 1300hrs, at Iloro Street, Agege, Lagos Magisterial District did conspire among yourselves to commit felony, to wit: Murder and thereby committed an offence, punishable under Section 231 of the Criminal Law of Lagos Nigeria, 2011.”

They all pleaded not guilty to the crime.

The magistrate, Mrs. S.O Solabo, said the four accused be remanded in prison pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
