Manchester United needs £80m to land Robert Lewandowski

Manchester United must put together an incredible £80million package to land Robert Lewandowski this summer.

The new Premier League champions are locked in a tug-of-war with German giants Bayern Munich for the Borussia Dortmund striker.

Bayern believe they have an agreement in place to sign the 24-year-old, whose four goals demolished Real Madrid in Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg, for £20m.

The Pole’s agent Maik Barthel confirmed: “We have reached an agreement with a club and intend to move this summer.”

Yet Dortmund have privately insisted they will not let him go to Bayern after their Bundesliga rivals bagged Mario Goetze this week.

And a bigger offer from United — a £28m fee and £200,000 a week in wages over five years — could persuade the Germans to sell to them.
