Chelsea star Eden Hazard to miss Europa League final with Benfica

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is out of tomorrow's Europa League final with Benfica due to a hamstring injury, interim boss Rafael Benitez has confirmed.

The Blues will continue to assess John Terry's ankle injury up to kick-off, while Ryan Bertrand, the surprise inclusion in last year's Champions League final win over Bayern Munich, will definitely miss out.

With a situation similar to last year's final, Chelsea could be missing several of their key first-team players.

Terry came out on the Amsterdam ArenA pitch today for a light jog, but returned down the tunnel after just a few minutes.

Chelsea also have concern over midfielder Jon Mikel Obi, who has a hip problem, meaning Frank Lampard is included and should take over the captains role if Terry is ruled out.

Lampard, who became the club's record goalscorer by netting twice in the win at Villa Park, could be deployed in a deep midfield role alongside Luiz, with Ramires pushed further forward alongside Juan Mata and Oscar.

Hazard has had a sparkling first season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 13 times, providing 20 assists and appearing on the shortlist for both the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
