Bayern Munich topples Manchester United as "World's Most Valuable Football Brand"

Bayern Munich, winners of the Champions League on Saturday, have ousted their team as the most valuable brand in football, according to a new study.

Bayern's brand has been valued at £569m, up 8 per cent from last year, by Brand Finance plc, which has attempted to establish how much a third party would have to pay to license the use of a brand and ranked football teams accordingly.



Despite Manchester United winning a record 20th league title, they have fallen to second place in this league table, with a brand that's only worth a paltry £553m, a two per cent fall from last year.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City also feature in the brands top 10, but the re-emergence of German football is demonstrated by strong showings from Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04 and Hamburg.
