Ryan Giggs signs new Manchester United contract

Ryan Giggs has extended his Manchester United contract until June 2014 — taking him through his 40th birthday.

United veteran Giggs was rumoured to be ready to hang up his boots at the end of the season. But the Premier League leaders were keen to hang on to the most decorated player in British football.

Giggs, 39, signed professional forms with United in 1990 and made his debut on March 2, 1991.

He has made a club-record 931 appearances since then, scoring 168 goals in the process.

During his time at Old Trafford, Giggs has won 12 Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, two Champions Leagues, one Super Cup, an Intercontinental Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.
