The FA awaits referee Howard Webb's match report before deciding whether to take any action against Rio Ferdinand for his trip on Fernando Torres during yesterday's FA Cup clash between Manchester United and Chelsea.

If Webb was to report he missed the incident, the governing body would look at footage to determine intent on Ferdinand's behalf and whether disciplinary proceedings should be opened.

The Chelsea striker fell to the ground in a heap and Ferdinand then dragged the Spaniard back to his feet.
