Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna ruled out of derby clash with Tottenham

Arsenal suffered a blow last night when Bacary Sagna was ruled out of the North London derby.

The France right-back has been struggling with a knee injury but hoped to face Tottenham on Sunday.

He was in line to mark Spurs winger Gareth Bale but Arsene Wenger said he will not make the White Hart Lane clash.
The Gunners boss said: “He’s not ready for Sunday. It is too soon.”

Kieran Gibbs is also out with a thigh strain so Nacho Monreal continues at left-back.

Abou Diaby needs a check on his calf but is desperate to play. He said: “It is more than a game. We all look forward to these big games.

“The atmosphere around the game means we all want to win, so that makes it very exciting. That is why I think there are so many goals.”
