"You’ll miss me when I’m gone" - Wenger blasts critics

Arsene Wenger faces Bayern Munich in the Champions League tonight insisting he will be missed when he leaves English football.

The under-fire Gunners manager reacted furiously when questioned over reports he was to be offered a contract extension.

Wenger, 63, said: “I’m sure you will miss me when I’m gone. My current contract ends in 2014. I will have completed 30 years without interruption at top level; football demands a lot of commitment.”

As for tonight, Wenger wants at least a clean sheet from the first leg of the last-16 tie.

He said: “It is vital because 0-0 at home is a very good result in the knockout stages. We will try to score but 0-0 is not a disaster.

“In Europe you face quality teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid but they don’t win it every year.

“We have been in the final and consistently in the quarter-final, semi-finals.

“People say it is not our best opportunity but I think it’s a fantastic one.”

Surely Monsieur Wenger will be missed, but no man is irreplaceable!

AW needs to "get off his high horse" and rejuvenate Arsenal before he leaves IMO!
