Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko eyes Bundesliga return

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has reiterated his desire to return to the Bundesliga but has denied he has held talks with Borussia Dortmund.

Dzeko won the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg in 2009 and has made no secret of his love for the German league despite winning a Premier League title with City last season.

Recent reports have seen the Bosnian international linked with a return to Germany with Dortmund leading the race to sign, but he has made it clear he is still committed to City.

“I love the Bundesliga and I will return to the Bundesliga. I can just not say when I will return,” Dzeko told German sports magazine Kicker.

“I have still two years [on my] contract. We will see, what happens.”

It was reported that Dzeko had met with Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp and club officials to discuss a possible deal, but the 26-year-old has denied the claims.

“That’s not true. There is a lot of talk and a lot is written. If you believed every word, I’d be playing at FC Bayern or AC Milan by now,” he explained.

Dortmund took four points off City when the sides met in the group stages of the Champions League, but Dzeko does not hold a grudge. Indeed, he is hoping the German side go all the way to the final.
