Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna set for summer exit

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has begun the process of replacing Bacary Sagna after instructing scouts to compile a detailed dossier of prospective right back targets.

Sagna and the club are currently in the midst of a long-running contract stand-off, with the France defender currently refusing to sign a 12 month extension to his existing deal which would take him to the summer of 2015.

The deal would not include a pay-rise, meaning the player would remain on his current £60,000-per-week salary.

Sagna suffered two broken legs last season while he has complained of knee problems in recent months.

Arsenal will look to sell him in the summer if he does not sign the terms currently on the table.

Wenger has already told influential chief scout Steve Rowley to instruct the club's global network of spies to identify players to replace Sagna ahead of next season.

Interestingly, the scouting remit is for a player to go straight into the team as first choice right back.

Arsenal prospect, Carl Jenkinson has proven to be a reliable replacement in my opinion. Stick with him and get a replacement also!
