Woman arrested for selling dogs in Kano
One man’s meat, they say, is another man’s poison. That seems to be case of a woman, whose source of livelihood, has landed her in Hisbah net.
Mrs. Happiness Moses, 42, buys dogs in bulk and sells them retailers for distribution to consumers in Kano. For her, it was a good business as she had been in the business for over five years.
Her business crumbled yesterday, when she was re-arrested, having been arrested two years ago and paraded by the Hisbah Deputy Commander, Dala unit, Mallam Abubakar Salihu for failing to yield to warnings which were handed to her two years ago.
Parading Moses before journalists, Salihu said selling dogs for any purpose in Kano was prohibited and against the tenet of Islam, which the state tenaciously upheld.
He said Mrs. Moses would be charge to Shariah Court as soon as possible because “our law does not allow that business and she knows that.”
